Sweet and sour chicken with Guillermo

Guillermo, from the restaurant Lumbre wants to share with us this awesome chicken recipe that will surprise your guests.


  • Two chicken breasts
  • Olive oil
  • Half onion
  • Half red, yellow and green paprika
  • An egg
  • Cornstarch
  • Mushrooms
  • Pineapple
  • Soy sauce
  • Vinegar
  • Ketchup
  • Chili powder
  • Broth
  • Sugar


  1. Cut the vegetables in dices 
  2. Heat oil to 200Cº
  3. Cut the chicken in stripes, put it in a bowl with some soy sauce
  4. Add an egg and mix
  5. Sauté the vegetables at 200Cº. Dont’t shake it or add the salt until after 30 seconds to a minute
  6. Take out the vegetables before they are fully cooked
  7. Cook the mushrooms at 180Cº
  8. Cook the pineapple at 180Cº
  9. Cover the chicken with cornstarch
  10. Fry the chicken at 220Cº for 3-4 minutes
  11. In a empty pan add soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, chile powder, broth, sugar and water
  12. Add cornstarch with water to the sauce. Heat at 110Cº
  13. Add the vegetables and the chicken back to the pan and let it cook with the sauce
  14. Plate with chives
